This project will teach the fundamentals of solar energy and its storage, carbon footprint assessment and social entrepreneurship to participating youths. Over a 4-day period, participating youths will be provided basic units of solar panel and will be tasked to come up with ideas on the use of solar energy storage in a hackathon format. Prior to the Hackathon, all participants are expected to attend one of the two workshops. An additional workshop will be held after the Hackathon to share these concepts to more students. This project is part of a global movement for green schools. Participating schools will have an opportunity to access contents on environmental sustainability online, provided by US-based Green School Alliance.
